Product Description

Omeprazole Capsules IP have been prescribed for treatment of peptic ulcers, symptoms of GERD, erosive esophagitis, and upper gastrointestinal bleeding. With protein binding ability of about 95%, they show bioavailability of 35 to 76% and elimination half life of 1-1.2 hours. These capsules get metabolized in liver by CYP2C19 and CYP3A4 with excretion mainly in urine. They tend to work by inhibiting activity of H+/K+ ATPase pump which secretes gastric acid and is found on surface of parietal cells. Omeprazole Capsules IP get absorbed through small intestine and belong to drug class of proton pump inhibitors.
